Service callOven temperature sensor
The oven sensor — the thin probe on the back wall of the oven — is reading open (F-1) or shorted (F-4). The control cannot see the oven's temperature, so it will not heat.
- Look at the probe on the oven's back wall near the top: it should sit straight with nothing touching it. A rack or a pan shoved against it bends it.
- Reset (breaker off one minute) and set the oven to Bake 350°F. A sensor code that clears and stays gone was a one-off.
A code that returns is the oven sensor or its wiring — a part behind the oven's back wall, a technician's job. The cooktop still works meanwhile.
F-1 or F-4 after a reset is a service call. The oven will not heat until the sensor is replaced; the burners on top still work.
