Fix at homeDoor open alarm
Not a fault. A door has been open more than about five minutes; the alarm chimes and the door icon shows.
- Push both doors shut, firmly; a door stops a quarter inch short when a jar is sitting proud on a door shelf.
- A door that drifts back open is a refrigerator not tilted back enough — raise the front leveling feet a half turn each so the doors swing closed on their own.
- The gaskets are clean and seal all the way around; a gasket folded under at a corner holds the door off its switch.
Close the door and the alarm stops. If the alarm sounds with every door shut tight, the door switch is the part — a service call. Press any button to silence it meanwhile.
